What’s this? The video shows someone using a feature on Google Maps that sends driving directions to his BMW navigation system. The video claims this service is called “BMW Assist.” Is this a prototype, a visualization of an idea, just plain fake, or a real product?
[Thanks Vittorio Del Percio!]
Update: Vittorio fills in more details. He says he found the video on the personal blog of the Google Italy Communication Manager, Stefano Hesse. Stefano writes that this (Vittorio’s translation) a “project, for the time being related to Germany only, which I have personally coordinated and about which I am really proud. Any other car companies soon?”
Update 2: And now, the official Google blog posted on this.
